Willie Johnson is the supplier diversity procurement manager for CHEP – a global leader in supply chain solutions. CHEP is located in Orlando, Florida and serves many of the world’s largest companies.
Willie is responsible for the execution and development of world-class supplier diversity strategies. This includes integrating supplier diversity into CHEP’s daily activities and procurement decisions, as well as increasing company-wide spend with diverse businesses.
Willie has more than 18 years’ experience leading government and corporate supplier diversity and procurement initiatives. He assisted in creating and implementing a business development program for local government agencies and has helped strengthen the supplier diversity programs for many national corporations.
During his tenure with a National Minority Supplier Development Council affiliate, he created contract and diversity inclusion language for local corporations. This helped corporations foster contractual commitments with diverse businesses, and at the same time, keep the bid process competitive. He also served as one of five members who resolved and further developed the certification practices and protocol for the National Minority Supplier Development Council – an organization that governs twenty-three affiliates in the United States and administers programs in Canada, The United Kingdom, China, South Africa and Australia.
Willie serves on the boards of a number of local and national organizations to strengthen their diversity initiatives as well as the CHEP supplier diversity program.
